Located on Shengli Rd. beside the Kuangfu Campus, National Cheng Kung University, the Xiaoximen is also known as "Jingpomen." The gate was constructed in 1788 after the Lin Shuangwen Incident was repressed, which became the eighth gate of Taiwan Fucheng. The inward gate was named "Xiaoximen," and the outward one "Jingpomen." Almost all gates and walls were torn down during the Japanese period, with Xiaoximen, Dadongmen, and Dananmen remained. The three gates were listed as historical sites by the government in 1935. In 1970, the Xiaoximen was once planned to be removed due to the widening of Fengchia Rd. (today's Ximen Rd. Sec. 1), but was later moved to the campus of National Cheng Kung University and maintained until today.
