In the Fourth World Conference on Women held in 1995, "gender mainstreaming" was formally assigned as the strategy for promoting gender equality. In the political circle, the number of male decision-makers far surpasses their female counterparts. Therefore, the United Nation anticipated that all governmental laws and plans should emcompass gender perspectives, granting equal access to social and political resources to different genders.
We are striving to acheive the elimination of prejudices and stereotype to guarantee eqaul rights and information for different genders. In the meanwhile, we are promoting the concept of gender equality to the communities, with a view to making Tainan a more gender-friendly city.
